How to debug the fx files?

I just begin to learn the HLSL. So I write a simple VS program. void VertScene( float4 Pos : POSITION, float4 Color : COLOR, out float4 oPos : POSITION, out float4 oColor : COLOR) { oPos = mul( Pos, g_mWorldViewProjection ); oColor = float4( 1, 0, 0, 1) ; } This function can be debugged easily, and I can see evey step in the function. But If I change some sentences, I cannot debug into this function. As follow: void VertScene( float4 Pos : POSITION, float4 Color : COLOR, out float4 oPos : POSITION, out float4 oColor : COLOR) { oPos = mul( Pos, g_mWorldViewProjection ); oColor = Color; } Some on could tell me why? Thx
