DX8 question

Recommended Posts

Hello, Could anyone tell me how to make a screen capture using DX8 (so no DX9, no VMR9) ? I need a full capture, i.e. if a movie is playing in media player or some other player, the screen capture should contain the whole desktop, including for ex. the MediaPlayer window with the proper image (from the video running in that moment). I had some answers telling that it is possible by using a frame grabber or VMR9. As the second is out of question, does anyone know where could I find some exemples or docs about frame grabbers? Thanks

Basically what you want to do is save the front buffer to a surface, then save the surface to a file. If you need some help on how to do that, PM me, or post here or something, and we can give you some example code.

Granted, I'll have to convert it to C++ from VB6, but I'm used to it [wink]

Mushu - trying to help those he doesn't know, with things he doesn't know.
Why won't he just go away? An question the universe may never have an answer to...
