I'm terrible with describing my perceptions, and I'm not very color coordinated (I only wear brown, grey and navy blue).

That said, maybe it's just me, but her armor seems a little too much like the color of her hair (which really dominates the model). It's as if the colors wash into each other, which may very well be the look you're going for.

In any event, nice work.

yup, thats a good point,

it's been brought to my attention before, so we might go with silver armor instead, but for the moment we are gonna stick with the gold.

thanks for the input=)

Anyone else?

Her armour looks great, I really like it. Something that instantly jumped out at me though, are her breasts.

I know, I know, what am I doing checking out her breasts? I couldn't help it, it stuck out like a sore thumb to me. Her breasts are way too sagged for her age and her endowment. She's not a very "big" girl, but the base of her breasts are almost touching her elbows. It doesn't look very good at all.

To illustrate the point, I did a quick google for "girl picture" or something like that, and came up with this comparison for you:

So they have to come up a bit, or stretch out her arms and midriff.

If you don't want comments on her physique, then I must say that I definitely like the armour. Gold armour embodies a sense of holiness and purity, which I'm not sure clashes with your plot ("Morning's Wrath", sounds violent =P).

If she's a good character, then it definitely works.

I like the right one better, but not the hottest girls i've seen...

As for the armor I think the colours in the character look too homogenuous, but the model looks good to me, sometimes what looks good on real life does not on a screen, proportions have to be diferent.

Hehe, thanks Grozzler,

at the moment the 'porportions' are model default, i can assure you that her breasts arn't sagging though =), it is possible that the armor lines are just tricking your eyes, the breastplate extends rather low.

Hmm, colors, lots of people seem to be giving me the 'too much gold' feedback, not sure if that is good or bad.

Her armor is very special, so that is why it is gold, and the title,

Morning's Wrath, means violence, but the main character is good, and in such a way it shows that Violence is not always bad, and at times is the only answer.

Given that she is a princess I decided to use gold as the dominating colors, however, given that she is also a blonde I am not sure that it's good, given low contrast.

I am open to sugestions for other color schemes, if anyone wants to throw some out =)... please? =)

Fun character design..... but what warrior in their right mind would wear armor that left their abdomen exposed? That's a death wish right there.

I like it! She looks fairly stilted, but I'm sure that's because she's in the skinning pose, and just needs to relax a bit in the animations. In my opinion, animation is even more overlooked than sound in many games, and GREAT animation can make things seem much more natural.

Too much gold :D
She can look good without being solid gold. How about leather for the boots and skirt and silver instead of gold for the breastplate and leggings, would be a nice balanced color and contrast a bit with her golden blonde hair instead of blending with it as it is right now.

I also can't help thinking that MW would be a much better game if her boobs were a bit bigger like Lara's... I mean just look at what they did for the sales of Tombraider, obviously boob size affects gameplay somehow ;)

Gah!, my team is being corupted =D

Serves you right for letting your team wander about loose, instead of keeping them locked in a box like you should. Now you know. [grin]

That said...

Looks good, looks good. I just have to second Sneftel's opinion on the exposed abdomen, though. I understand that exposing a little female flesh is the key to every geek's heart, but still... Perhaps a chain mesh corset or something... maybe even make the corset lift and separate to satisfy the hangin' to the elbows issue? I dunno...

(Really, it's looking good Raymond. You guys keep up the good work.)

Now, is she supposed to be a Queen Victoria's Secret underwear supermodel... or a medieval warrior? She looks like the former. Y'know, even women's clothing in medieval times wasn't so. I don't know why game developers Westernize medieval European women warriors... Aside from the armor design being impractical for combat and contrary to what was acceptable during the era in which Morning's Wrath appears to take place, I like the colors in the old one, but the old one also Elvenizes the character whereas the new one makes her a bit more humanesque.

VertexNormal:

thank you =D
again, if I simply charged ahead and used my ideas then I would have her 'nearly' entirely covered in a more 'functional' manner instead of looking good.

But, i have people who work to mix in other variables, so, what your seeing is the mix of that. =)

as for adding a maille corset, i sugested that, but i was answered with.

"If it covers her then it defeats the purpose".

If i completely gave way, she would be wearing almost nothing =D

Adraeus:

hehe, pretty harsh, let me explain a few things =)

we are aiming to appeal more so than be accurate, not everything in the real world should be used in the game world, this game is a fantasy, the era is a blend of many eras from the real world.

So, all I really want to know, is does the armor appeal to you, visualy =) since 'appeal' secretly drives us all, and tends to be very strong =)

EDIT: hmm, the more i think about it, the more i want to cover her abdomen, just because of the danger of a stab there.

hmm, we'll I will sleep on it =D

Any other comments?

Perhaps some sort of mini-breast plate, 5 inches wide or so, that went from her sternum to cover her navel area? Not full protection, of course, but some protection against attacks to the abdomen. And you could flare the top into a sort of bustier so your horn-dog teammates would be happy with the changes [wink]

hehe, maybe, not sure i can invision it.

Also, that would require me to design a new breastplate, which is more work than I can really spare on the model at this point (we are trying to get the game done for Nov 28...)

so, any changes have to be pretty low impact, thanks for the idea though I will keep it in mind =D

Everyone knows that protection is inversly proportional to coverage on an attractive female, just look at any game or movie. (partically anime)

It's simply a matter of the armor being magic (remember magic does whatever looks good). And the more attractive the female the more the magic want's to cover and protect her (hence little need for weak metal armor). And magic heavy armor interfere's with coverage protection or something. I have a truly marvelous demonstration of this relationship, which this boards margins are too narrow to contain.

It all makes complete sense when you use the power of self delusion to convince yourself to do whatever.

ps. even samus showed off her in an alternate ending.

Since the beginning, I've maintained that Metroid/Samus is a guy. I don't care what anyone says... even the developers: Samus is a guy.

Hello all,

okay i finally broke down and did a few things =)

1. I covered Morning's abdomen with ringmaille, makes the armor look more protective, sorry guys ;-)

2. I took the silver base armor, and used the gold version to 'guild' the raised surfaces of the armor, the armor has a leaf pattern so the leaves and vines are now gold plated. I think this helps to make the armor more 'royal' and less 'plain'.

I think we are getting twoards perfect now.

Thoughts?

How does her "ringmail" pantyhose remain "up"? I think she should be wearing a full ringmail suit and chainmail on top of that. I'd like to see a version of her without the pantyhose actually. The pantyhose makes her look "gothic." If they were ringmail pants, that'd be a different story. I also think the 2-piece dress suit is too modern for the look. I'd make that a 1-piece and lengthen the skirt to at least above the knees instead of mid-thigh. If she sits down as it is now, it's a porno all over again.
