I want to write games for the TI-83. Is there any way I could do this in a language other than assembly or calculator BASIC? If I can only do this in assembly, can someone point me to tutorials?

Assembly is a common way, basic is worthless for anything reasonably needing speed, there is a c compiler for the ti89 and maybe the 83 also.... google around for it.

On a not-so-semi-related note: I was thinking about this same question and the subject of actually WRITING my own compiler for it came up. Any tutorials on compiler design and creation, maybe using those wonderful tools I've heard so much aboue (lex and yacc)?
