freeglut question(VC6)

i define a joystick class and there is a function in it for callback, but when i pass it to the glutJoystickFunc, it doesn't work. anyone know why???And, how to solve it?? (i know that if i define it as global function, it should ok but i just want to define a class joystick and put it here) myJoystick=new joystick(); glutJoystickFunc(myJoystick->joystickCallback, 0); glutIdleFunc(myJoystick->joyPoll);

the error msg is
error C2664: 'glutJoystickFunc' : cannot convert parameter 1 from 'void (unsigned int,int,int,int)' to 'void (__cdecl *)(unsigned int,int,int,int)'
None of the functions with this name in scope match the target type
