switch statement problem

i have switch statement that executes cases based on user input. one of my cases calls two functions that gets more user input. the problem is, when the case calls the first function, that function goes into an infinite loop getting the input and never makes the call to the second function. it looks something like this:
while ( !quit ) 
{
   switch()
   {
      case 1:
      call1();
      call2();
      break;
   .
   .
   .
   }
}
i want to call both functions consecutively until the quit character is entered.
