Your favorite programming language
Hey guys, what's your favorite language? I'm not asking which you think is the best, or which you use at your job or whatever.
Which is the one that makes programming the more fun to you?
Me, I have two: Ruby and Smalltalk. Ruby because I really like the language and I think it's a joy to write code in it and Smalltalk because I also dig the language, but even more the whole IDE surrounding it.
Right now, I'm doing a web project in Ruby using Rails and so far it's been extremely pleasent, much more pleasant than the last time I had to do a web project and that I had to use PHP4.
My favourite is ZiLOG Z80 ASM, for its simplicity and the fun of ASM proramming in general; second has to be Visual Basic.net (though I've only just started, but it feels oh-so-nice to work with, and the IDE is awesome). I also like Brainfuck; that's pretty damned cool (even if it is an esoteric language).
Unrealscript :D
i just get the most fun results out of it ;)
seriously, it's awesome (but only if you want to make a game with a nice graphics engine)

QBasic, I can't remember having any more fun than programming in QBasic with my friends and on my own projects. It was just so easy to get something cool up and running and then make plans for it to be the largest game ever created.
But since I've learned C++ I can't really make myself do anything in QBasic because everything I want to do is way to complicated (for me) to do in QBasic, and C++ is a lot of fun too, it it's really my favorite. The more I learn Java, however, the more I enjoy programming in it, so while it isn't my favorite, I do like it.
So yeah, GW-Basic is my favorite.

:) I was using QBasic well into 2000. Eventually I had to drop it, as there was no where left to go with it.
Assembly. Any Assembly, doesn't really matter. The best time I ever had programming was when dos was still big (because win3.1 still sucked, despite the major improvements over previous versions) and I was making my own graphics library etc in assembly and C. I went on to make a few Z80 games for the TI83 (never released because I finished none of them) and a few 68k games for the TI-92+ (only one was released, Nibbelz {or something like that, not spelled the normal way}) was 'the snake game' with several options {difficulty, high score table, etc} and it was only finished because I was the assistant/library programmer in that case).
I'm seriously considering trying to build a one instruction CPU using an FPGA, and then making a macro assembler, so I can get all that great assembly action manually! =-)
Note To Self: Update Project List in Journal
