Projected Textures

Recommended Posts

Hi all! I really need to know how projected textures, shadow maps and stencil shadows work, and how to implement them with DX9. Mainly projected textures. Could someone recommend me a book that explains it? Or maybe a good web site? Thx a lot! []s

Here's an extreme cool water effect - the refraction and reflection textures are projected onto the water surface - done in D3D using Shaders:
http://graphics.cs.lth.se/theses/projects/projgrid/

For me this code was quite usefull to see how projective textures can be done.

wow, that is a really cool water effect!

I compiled the source and noticed a weird bug -
on line 804 in tessdemo.cpp you can find the following

//#ifdef REFRACTION
render_refracted_scene();
//#endif

if I uncomment the #ifdef and add

#define REFRACTION

at the top of the page, I get a ghost version of the island in a static position from any viewing angle.
does anyone know how this happens?
