DirectSound problem : about the example streamdata

I modified the examples of streaming sound in different versions of DirectX SDK (streamdata in DX8,9, and playstreaming in DX7) to make them create global sound buffers. I found if two instances of the program play wave files at the same time, the playback will stall shortly every several seconds. Would anyone like to tell me why this happens and how to modify the examples to fix the problem? Thank you in advance.
