3d Graphics Engines

Recommended Posts

Hi. For my final year project at Uni, I am creating a 3d graphics engine in openGL. At the moment I am doing some research into the subject, so I was hoping that anyone out there may be interested in sharing some experiences of good and bad engines and why you think they are. Also, if you have experience of creating engines yourself, why you did things the way you did or why you decided not to include certain features. If you know of any good pages out there that know one knows about, it would be very helpful if you posted theie address too. Cheers Lee < winderL8@cs.man.ac.uk >

I''m working on my 3d engine and writing some docs about it.

You can go to http://www.flipcode.com and check the portal engine tutorial, I''m sure it will help you.

You''ll have to decide what kind of engine you want. Do you want to do terrain? Indoor? Space? Most engines, have static data and dynamic data. The static data is usually the level itself, and the dynamic data are the people and objects that move around.
