So, i finaly finished a working game... other than tetris. I was hoping to add some more fuctionality so that it is more like the old mac Asterax, with all of its weapon and ship upgrades, but alas, sometime you get board once things start become extra work. So try it out if you like. http://www.nmt.edu/~tsanchez/Asteroids.rar And if you happen to know how to make a timer that doesnt conflict with winamp 5.1 plz post. The game gets really choppy when winamp is open, and I know winamp is the problem because several other games ( 2 DDR-clones for example ) also experiance this choppyness. Though games like doom3 and CallOfDuty don't have the problem, so there has to be a way around it. [edit-fixed link...] [Edited by - KulSeran on October 5, 2004 2:17:04 AM]

it lags like hell, how the hell did u make a game of asteroids lag ?

*laughs*. I havn't downloaded it (exe over internet = teh suck) but I'm guessing this probably has to do with relying on "frame based" updates instead of "time based" (aka, the less frames are rendered in a second, the slower the movement goes, because you move the same amount each frame instead of the same amount each second).

I definatly have timebased movement...
But as I was saying some programs like winamp seem to
cause my timer code to screw up. It is the simple
preformance timer/GetTickCount() two piece timer setup.
Anyone know a workaround for that?
