I feel very Stupid. Having just navigated every part of this glorius Web site I still cant find the section that includes Open Source program's for Quake III, II, ect. Can some one please fill this thick person in, on how to access Open Source ? .

Hmm GameDev.net isn't a open source code repository of some sort. But SourceForge.net is, although they only have projects that are registered there. So Quake etc. won't be there, they're usually at the companies website.
