Displaying Image thru Network

I want to display an Image thru network? I have an image on the one end and i want to display that image on the other end without downloading the file just an streaming image file. Can anybody gave me an idea on how to do this? thanks in advance

Well, you can transmit the binary data of the image through your socket. all you have to remeber is to set the extension of the file to the correct type so you can view it.

Although he doesn't want to download it.

You won't be able to stream the file to be viewed with the appropriate application (E.g. .psp -> Paint Shop Pro), you'll have to display the image yourself. So if you're streaming a JPEG image, you'll need to decode it first.

Whatever way you look at it you'll be downloading the image, in that you need to transfer it to your 'displaying end' to display it.

Having said that - if you're saying that you just don't want to store the image on disk, no problem. Just keep the image in memory and display it.

If you were to say more about which platform/technologies you are using I could give you a more specific example.
