I am using d3d 9.0 with C# and created mesh objects (.x file) in maya5. I want to make a mesh object transparent in my scene. Please can anyone help me? How do I do this? [Edited by - mauritzviljoen on October 7, 2004 9:09:42 AM]

You can get some transparency by setting alpha values (in the materials) in your 3D modeller, then using alpha blending to render the mesh with the material's alpha values.

If you want to make it dynamically transparent, you can always adjust the alpha component of each of the mesh materials realtime.

You can also use mesh material alpha values to do cool effects for fire, inverting colors, etc. Neat-o stuff IMO.
