output in SDL
I need to know what a varialbe is being set at and my program uses SDL so I cant get my output out on the console. How can I figure out what this variable is?
printf() should sent output to stdout.txt. If you are using windows you could call MessageBox(), just while you need it for testing, then take it out to make your code cross platform again.
SDL doesn't allow console output by standard? huh?
I've never had any probs with console output or any redirection to stdout.txt. Has it changed recently or is there something I am not aware of?
I print to the console it appears in there... what's the prob?

Whenever I've used SDL (on windows) because you use a Win32 app the console doesn't come up. SDL automatically redirects stdout and stderr to text files.

That's why I usually build my SDL apps as Win32 Console applications.
