I'm developing an application which will warp images with "goo" like effects (or liquify in Photoshop). Does anyone know where I can find resources to achieve these effects? Thanx, toxie

What game development library are you using? DirectX?

Most libraries include some method for manipulating image data on a per-pixel basis. You can use pixel-based techniques to achieve your goal, but it won't be very fast if you're doing it to a large surface.

You may need to look into using assembly language, if you need blinding-fast pixel-based effects.

Or, alternatively, you could simply use Photoshop (as you mentioned) to create bitmaps of the effect you're after, and simply display those bitmaps with your game dev library! This method will be fast, but use more memory.

Hope that helps!
