Hi, Any idea how I can query the data type of a structure member in an effect file, using the D3DX API's ? e.g. to query this from the FX file, but at runtime: struct appdata { float3 Position : POSITION; float2 UV : TEXCOORD0; float3 Normal : NORMAL; }; I can successfully determine the input semantics for a vertex shader (which just gives the usage information, effectively like TEXCOORD0). However, if I then wish to determine whether this is a 2d or 3d texture coordinate, I hit a stumbling block. I've tried querying all the parameters present from the IDirect3DXEffect interface, and also tried accessing the constant table via IDirect3DXConstantTable, but as far as I can tell they do not expose the information I need. Basically I'm trying to create a vertex declaration and fill in the D3DDECLTYPE for the vertex element ... I am using the dx9.0c October 2004 SDK drop. Thanks, Adrian
