I've read about this before, but haven't been able to find the solution yet... I have MSVC++ 6.0 standard edition and very frequently it will freeze during compiling and/or building. The only way I can get it to stop is to manually terminate the MSDEV process and start up the program again, which is a big pain. I've downloaded microsoft's sp5 update for MSVC++ 6.0, but after downloading that 130MB file it wouldn't even work - windows didn't recognize the .exe file as being a valid win32 executable. Anyone else encountered this problem or know the solution? Thanks!
