Can someone tell me how to convert from a std::string to LPCSTR? I searched and found this: http://www.gamedev.net/community/forums/topic.asp?topic_id=68138 But that doesn't work and is the best I could find via search. THANKS!

LPCSTR is the same as a const char *.
I suppose this is an argument of a function, so you can do as follows:

function( stringname.c_str() );

With stringname being the name of your std::string variable.

[edit] Oops, didn't look at the thread you mentioned. I've had no problem with this. Can you describe exactly what is not working? If you could give some code, it would help.
