XSkinExp.dle wont work with 3d studio max 6

i cant export my 3d studio max files as a .x file as the XSkinExp.dle plugin is too old for my version of 3d studio max 6. can anyone help?
I currently only use c# and directX9, in case its relivant and i didnt mention it in the post

The source for the .x export plugin is in the SDK extras - just compile it against the Max 6 SDK, and it works.

sorry but i dont understand what you mean. i have direct x9 on my pc and cant find anything that looks like the source for the .x converter

Just use the Pandasoft DirectX Exporter. It's a much better exporter, anyways. The only problems I've ever had with it are exporting skinned meshes. I still haven't found an exporter than can reliably export skinned meshes to X format, though [wink].
