Greetings. 'To the point: I just downloaded the DX9SDK and thought I installed everything correctly. However, whenever I try to run any of the samples included with the SDK, I get this message: "The procedure entry point DdEntry1 could not be located in the dynamic link library GDI32.dll." All I can figure is that I'm not linking to something I should be. Has anyone come across this issue?

Are you using vc++ 6? If you are, then you're going to have to download the dx sdk extras which have the libs for vc6, and I think you also need to update your platform SDK and have SWindows service pack 5 at the least.

Not sure of all the above though

Well, I found solution.

After digging around other forums, I discovered that the problem arose because of a Win2K repair install I had to perform because the Windows Installer became corrupted.

The file d3d8thk.dll is the problem file and if you download the replacement and copy to your WIN32/SYSTEM directory everything works out. At least for me.

Thanks, folks.
