Multiple animation sets

I want to exploit the animation controller capabilities of DirectX. How do you record multiple animation sets (with different poses) into one .MAX file? Vague? Sort of :) One way I can think of is to like in dx settime 0->20 = WALK 21->40 = attack etc... is it possible? every animation set is attached at the end of others (MAX)... Thanks Jack
