SRC and DEST color keying

Recommended Posts

This will probably sound like an odd question but here it is : is it possible, with DirectX, to set a destination color key _and_ a source color key for one surface, or are the destination and source keys exclusive? I didn''t try to set them both yet and can''t do it right now (I''m not home), so I''d appreciate any answer. Thanks for reading.

I allways thought that the source and destination color keys where only flags to the blit function telling it to use the source or destination surface''s colorkey. I''m totaly wrong here or what?

Yeah goir, a source color key is one that specifies which colors are not to be copied. A destination color key is one that specifies which colors are not to be written to. (For a graphical depiction of this go to my site (linked below) -> Resources -> Article #6)

Anyway, I see no reason why you couldn''t specify both a source and destination color key for a blit. I''ve never tried it, but it should work.
