Creating a 3D HUD

First of all I am sorry to ask this question. I bet you have seen it 1000 times before. But I did do a search :-) Anyway I am working on my HUD wich will consist of severa 3D objects. I want to render these objects onto screen sorta like a GUI. When I create a GUI I normaly use ortho but that looks very bad due to the parallel projection. How can I project to screen using perspective projection. Thanks ps If you have links to toutorials code, whatever. It will be fine.

at the end of your rendering func, you could clear the z-buffer, and render the hud normally...
