recommend a wrox C# book that explains how to allow users to upload files into a database, and keeps track of how much space the files are taking up. Thanks for any help.

That has nothing to do with C#, and everything to do with whatever your database is.

For example, for postgres, I'd stick the files in large objects (using lo_open and friends), and make a table that references the large objects and stores things like name, date, and size of the file. Then you'd need to figure out how to call Postgres from C#. If your database is something else, then you need the C# documentation for that specific database.
