Normals of a mesh

Hi all, If I have a mesh that doesn't have normal information, I guess I can use the D3DXComputeNormals function, but the mesh won't have the D3DFVF_NORMAL flag set. Could I just clone the mesh and add this flag to it before calling the D3DXComputeNormals method ? CloneMeshFVF(...) D3DXComputeNormals(...); Thanks, Steve
