I am developing a wipeout-game and I need to create an environemnt. I currently know 2 techniques to create a world (only sky at this point): Sky-Box mapping and Sky-Dome mapping. Are there any other interesting techniques? and is any technique better than the other? some details about my sky: .it does not to be complex .i should render a moon or 2 also .it should be credible, and employ the minimum resources .it should not change during all the gameplay (maybe i will do somethin about the moons, but the background is static all the time) i am reading some stuff about texture mapping, altough i am not too comfortable with it i am beggining to understand the principles. I want to know my alternatives, and the best way (if there is) accomplish my objectives
