Multiple Pixel Buffers

Hi! We have one PBuffer (for impostors) in our 3D application at the moment. for post processing effects as well as for video beamer calibration (1280x1024...) i need more PBuffers. How many of these buffers are supported by acceleration? i think this depends of the reserved amount of video memory as well as to the gfx card... can you give me a link or something like that? maybe someone of you can give me some advice? TIA Thomas
