Hook D3D in C#

I need help hooking the D3D DLL to overlay a shape or text on a game. I need to hook the active d3d component of the game to draw a square or text ontop. Any help is appreciated. Thanks

Just like TSOverlay and Fraps (Shows FPS).
Acquire the target window handle and use GDI+ to draw whatever you want on top of it. No need to 'hook' any DLLs or stuff like that.
