Hello ! I am wondering which drivers does DirectInput use to get the keyboard and mouse information. Does it use the one that are installed on Windows or does it uses it's own driver ? If you have any information, thank's to share it with me :) Have a nice day ! Neilos

DXDiag suggests that the system keyboard class driver "kbdclass.sys" and system mouse class driver "mouclass.sys" are utilized in DI. If that info is correct, then yes - the drivers are the same ones that get used by the user32 library ("standard" Windows input) also.

So how does one know that User32 uses kbdclass.sys and mouclass.sys?

Via extremely clever techniques [wink]
Seriously, though, by checking the Windows DDK documentation.

User32 doesn't actually use the class drivers directly - instead, the Windows kernel installs and monitors them, passing the data from them to input subsystems (user32, DI).
