gluSphere and textures

I want to use glut primitve 'gluSphere' to create a environment, a giant sphere and apply a texture, like a sky or so. my problem is that all the code i find on the net is to apply the texture on the outer side, but all my scene to be inside the sphere, so i need to map the texture on the inner side of the sphere. I think if i map the normals into the center of the scene that will do the trick. is this right, and how can i do this?

the texture map will apear on both then inside and outside, when you render the sphere, disable culling (glDisable(GL_CULL_FACE)) and lighting (glDisable(GL_LIGHTING))
