I am wondering where to start with a tetris type game? I am currently trying to learn to program games on my own, and I stumbled onto this site. I will appreciate any help I can get. Also have any of you attempted to use c# or vb.net to program games??

Welcome to the site. You might want to read through some of the articles here. As for the language, it doesn't really matter. Most of us use C++, but that's just our choice. There is also a bunch of good stuff brought up in the Beginner Forum FAQ.

C++ is a powerfull language, mostly used to develop commercial games. you can do alot of things with it. For simple tetris games you could also use Visual Basic, Mircosofts own language. The games will only run on Windows, but VB is a simple language so for simple games thats the best.

Corret me if I'm wrong :)
