Build in Blended Mesh, anyone actually use?

I finally got around to writing my skeletal animation files, and stumbled across the fact that DX9 had a built in blended mesh function. Does anyone actually use this build in mechanism? or simply just do everything by hand, oldschool like? thanks ~Main

i use em, its pretty nice, altough very poorly documented. And the samples are really buggy (dosnt support non-animaiting meshes, but this can be fixed), but once you get it to work its pretty nice.

from the documentation that I have seen, seems like a large amount of overhead for the process. Does it override being able to do the blending in a verteex shader?
