Transform by Vertex

I'm just wondering if there's a way to transform individual verticies, and not the entire triangle. I'm trying to display Blizzard's mdl format and the bones are seperated by verticies, so some triangles might have points in 2 or more verticies... Any suggestions on doing this through hardware...?
