Multiple render targets

I have a need for multiple render targets. I'd like to use 3 rendering surfaces to construct my scene. The first is the primary surface associated with the device. The other two are used to build a scene that can be used to update the primary surface. Is this possible? And, if so, how? I've tried using CreateRenderTarget() with SetRenderTarget(), but, I can't seem to get anything rendered to the primary surface.

Create your render targets with CreateTexture and pass the USAGE_RENDERTARGET (or whatever, don't have docs handy).

Then you can use these textures as render targets and then use them to render to the primary backbuffer.

Don't forget to set the render target to the backbuffer before trying to render to it.
