VC++ 6: finding value of a constant in debugger

Recommended Posts

Hi, I have a bunch of constants at the top of one of my files, that looks something like this: const _long NumPhysicalTrackVertices = ( 1 + NumTrackSegments * PhysicalQuadsPerSegment) * 2; const _long PhysicalPointsPerSegment = PhysicalQuadsPerSegment + 1; const _long PhysicalIndicesPerSegment = (PhysicalPointsPerSegment * 2); Since they are defined in terms of other constants, it's kind of a pain to manually calculate their values. So what I'd like to do is just run the program in debug mode, and then type the name of the constant into the "watch" window. Unfortunately when I try this, the value displayed is something like: "CXX0017: Error: symbol "NumTrackVertices" not found" I also try hovering my mouse over the constant, but the value doesn't show up... So, does anyone know how to get this working? Thanks! roos

Just a guess... perhaps you need to execute the program up to the point where the variables are accessible from the current scope or at least initialized.
