X File and Max/Maya

In the DirectX 9 Sample From Microsoft, it has tutorial about mesh and it has x file, do max or maya can directly open these x file to view their 3d component? Which version can open it? Thx

The DirectX9 SDK comes with an X-file viewer that can be used to view (in various states) the X-files. Rhino 4.0 also has built-in .X support. 3DSMax 6 or later should be able to open the .X file but cannot natively export it (you need an export plugin). I'm not sure on Maya though. I think it has built-in .X support.
