Tyrant is a graphical roguelike game/CRPG. You play a brave hero out to earn his fortune is a world of monsters, magic and labyrinthine dungeons. The game is still in development. I've been working on it in my spare time for a few years. Recently however development has picked up a lot and the game has improved markedly thanks to a very effective core engine rewrite. It's an exciting time for Tyrant, since the game is improving rapidly and is probably on track for a v1.0 release sometime early next year. Tyrant is open to volunteers. The game is fully open source, but if it ever becomes really successful in terms of attracting a large player base, the plan is to set up a UK company to make money from advertising revenue and affiliate links etc. All serious, dedicated contributors will get shares. A 685 * 600 screen for a 1.7MB jar file... Isn't it a bit huge for an applet? Don't you think that an applcation would be better?
