A simple ray tracer
Im trying to learn about Ray Tracing and so far Im having no luck writing a simple ray tracer of my own. I learn best by tracing source code of other progrms but all the examples I find online are way too advanced for me to wrap my head around right now. I just need something really, really simple. Does anyone have c/c++ source code for a really simple ray tracer?
Maybe you can try Jacco Biker's articles on flipcode. They are pretty simple, with no optimizations during first few articles. Later he adds more advanced stuff.

Thats pretty much the simplest raytracer you can get - and it builds as the series continues. I suggest reading that although if you have and its still too much then maybe you should do something simpler first. If you haven't then enjoy because I really liked it :D
Edit: Beaten!

That's even more basic than the FlipCode tutorials. I also recommend checking out the later lessons which cover raycasting and making a simple Wolf3D clone.
It may be a better place to start before diving into raytracing.
