does "Beginning C++ Game Programming" work well with dev c++? Becuase i know that every compiler is a little different. Becuase i don't think the same code always works with other compilers does it? I also have the microsoft visual basic 6.0 compiler that i used a bit. I have the book sams teach yourself in 21 days but it doesn't go to much detail about arrays and data types and stuff like that. I want something kinndof like the book for visual basic i use at school. Its like microsoft visual basic its white. I really like that kind of book would b helpful. It has like lessons then exercises you have to apply what you learned. Well "Beginning C++ Game Programming" looks great but does it work well with dev c++?

Yes. The book actually comes with Dev-C++ on the CD. It was the book expects you to use. So should be good for you.
