Remove Textures and Materials from 3ds file

Hi, I have a 3ds file with all kinds of material an old textures, I would like to remove all the old stuff from the file , by using a MAXscript like this: fn removeAllMaterials = ( for i=1 to selection.count do ( selection.material = undifiend ) ) After using this script i'm still have the material and textures,what should I do? Thanks

I have no experience with MAXscript, but perhaps using "undefined" instead "undifiend" might offer a higher chance of success?
