SDL_Net vs WinSocket

from what iv heard SDL_net is only a wrapper around winsock, it dosnt do anything except provied a common crossplatform interface for winsock and berkelysocks, which are very similiar anyway. It provieds no functionality of its own like reliable udp sends etc.
