binding inputs with ps30

hey! i was trying to debug a shader when i noticed that inputs that are to be bound are successful for ps20 and not ps30. basically, in ps20, if the input to be bounded is (1,1,-20), i would see yellow. But this is not so, if i compile under ps30, which i only saw black. anynoe can shed some light? thx! RC
