Hey all, In some games I have noticed that Alt-Tab is disabled. Is there a quick and easy way to implement this? Also, I have noticed that when I Alt-Tab out and then back in, the full screen is gone, and the window is back to the resolution size. So if disabling Alt-Tab is not the right thing to do, do I need to do something within the Message Loop to make the app go back to full screen? Thanks!!

Ok, nevermind disabling Alt-Tab...

What is the proper procedure to bring back the full screen upon returning focus to the app?

Thanks!

Depends on your API/library, but for Direct3D you have to recreate (having release when being deactivated) your device and all objects dependent on it, such as index and vertex buffers, etc.

I figured it out, for those who may be wondering...

If you Alt-Tab, the device gets lost. Use the TestCooperativeLevel and Reset methods and when the user switches back to the app, everything should be working. If the TestCooperativeLevel returns D3DERR_DEVICELOST do not render, but return. You are waiting for the Test to return D3DERR_DEVICENOTRESET.

Cheers....

Sorry if this is old news!
