DirectDraw - AlphaBlend (GDI) with Transparency (Help???)

I remember searching through here and finding someone that discovered how to use alpha-channeled bitmaps and AlphaBlend to make transparent-alpha blended sprites. Only problem is I can't find it again. I've gotten TransparentBlt to work, and I've gotten AlphaBlend to work, but I have no in-between. Can someone please tell me how to make bitmaps with alpha channels? Also, does anyone know the value for AC_SRC_ALPHA? For some reason, that isn't in my "wingdi.h" file.
