Hello, I wonder what are the terrain dimensions in 3D RTS games like Panzers or C&C Generals? Please let me know if you find out. Thanks, -rex

What do you mean by dimensions? Do you mean the size of the entire map?

Yea, terrain (model) dimensions. Map dimensions.
That depends on the individual tile sizes.
But (I know it's not 3D, but the dimensions shouldn't matter) AOE II's tiles are 100x50 pixels and the map can be up to 128x128 tiles.
Killers don't end up in jailThey end up on a high-score!
Ok, thanx guys, if you find out 3d terrain dimensions, please post them here.
I really don't see the point. Terrain size is totally arbitrary and rarely converts to real-world units. However, I do know Age of Mythology converts to two meters per tile, with the average map being 400m on one side. This was an arbitrary design decision and is never mentioned within the context of the game itself, or any of its scripts. (I only know because it's mentioned at the beginning of the mapping document included with the game.)

GDNet+. It's only $5 a month. You know you want it.

The concept of interactive storytelling is something that many folks have struggled with and are working on...here's an interesting text:

The scales are completely arbitrary, and the actual map dimensions are often left to the mapper.

What exactly were you planning to use the information from this thread for?
