Okay I'm Trying to get a head start on designing games before I head to college and im wondering is the a link or a specific thread on this fourum I should go to to tell me everything I need to do to get started.

Dude, seriously, there is a list at the top of the site which reads "For Beginners" ... did you ever think to look there? Or did you even bother to look?
xyuri chill the last thing we want to do is scare away the very people this forum was created for but you really should do searches and stuff of previous threads and such before posting a thread that way you save your self some flaming and save other people repeate answers [grin] good luck

As you say though ... you will find that more people will be willing to help you if you try and help yourself a bit. Also, most of the time you can get an answer in ~2 minutes from google instead of waiting half an hour or more for a thread to answer your question.
