i'd be much obliged if people that don't bore easily would comment on my algo for visibility detection. do you notice any obvious problems, areas for improvement, efficiency issues, blah blah? i've been working on it for the past coupla months and it has evolved many times. http://members.gamedev.net/jorgander/occlusion.htm
