Point sprite capabilities...

Just a quicky, what is the call to check for hardware support of point sprites? Oh, actually another quick one well I am here. Is using point sprites a good way to create a particle system? Big thanks in advance. Kind regards. Mark Coleman

According to this page if the D3DCAPS9.MaxPointSize is equal to 1.0f then you DONT have hardware support.

Yes, I believe that PSprites were primarily included in the API for this exact purpose (they do have other uses as well). Look up the Point Sprites sample if it's still in the SDK - its quite pretty and probably exactly what you want [grin].
