Problem creating x-files whit Maya

Hi could anybody help me with exporting meshes from Maya 5 to x-files using the microsoft plug-in. The result is that the model is completely black when I look at it in the Meshviewer utility.

At work we had some problems with the texture and material names after exporting from Maya, try looking in the text of the .x file to see if there any strange symbols that shouldnt be in the names.

If you try loading it up into your own program you might get better error details from the loading code than just using the viwer, its pretty quick to knock up a quick .x file loader in C#.
